Module 4 Recap
This module focused on the characteristics of an effective mentor. Two of them, effective listening and demonstrating respect for your mentee, are of particularly importance. A variety of ways to improve your listening skills and those of your mentee are offered.
As you progress to Module 5, you will be introduced to two models for teaching motivating inquiry skills. These skills are very important for successful innovation. Young innovators will use those skills to identify what information they will need, how to ask good questions, how to find needed information and how to know when that information is the highest quality information. You will also get reacquainted with an old friend with a new twist.
The Innovation Destination
The Innovation Destination was designed and evaluated by a team from the Center for Digital Literacy at the School of Information Studies, Syracuse University and developed by Data Momentum Inc, in partnership with the Connecticut Invention Convention, By Kids for Kids, New York On Tech, and over 70 school librarians and young innovators.
This site has been serving the youth invention community from 2015 - present.
