Quality # 3: Mentors Are Positive Role Models
A positive role model is someone who sets a good example. Their values and behaviors align. Others want to emulate their behaviors, example, and wisdom.
Think about one or more individuals who were your personal role models when you were in school.
- Why were they role models for you?
Some students don't ever get a chance to develop a deep trusting relationship with an adult. Because you will be developing this type of special bond with students by virtue of your mentoring relationship, it is essential that you serve as a positive role model to them.
